I’m YQ from Tarot Singapore Online. Periodically, I run three-hour tarot workshops for beginners.

When I first started learning tarot, I had only a book that came with the tarot deck.

It was pretty helpful but I was referring to it every time I tried to do a reading for other people.

Years passed, I’d looked up on definitions online while I did readings. It wasn’t very helpful as I kept doubting myself.

It wasn’t until I decided to take tarot seriously that I figured out how it works for me.

And I want to share what I’ve learned with everyone who wants to use tarot in their life.

At first, I wanted to run an online course for tarot (eventually I will but not so soon). But after teaching a live workshop, I realized that face-to-face classes are better.

The benefits of learning tarot in person

  • You will get to see a live reading.
  • You can ask questions as the class goes on.
  • If you learn better through listening, having someone teach in person is the best.

Before setting up my class, I’ve looked around at the tarot lessons in Singapore. The lessons run from S$280 to S$400 for group lectures.

I think that’s an entry level that’s too high when tarot is meant for the people. And you don’t get as much personal attention in massive classes.

Plus, three hours of intensive class is optimal for our attention span, anything more will not help with memory retention.

A tarot workshop works best for the student with a maximum of six. Anything more, the instructor can’t give much attention to everyone.

Here are the details of the workshop.

Curious about tarot? Here’s a chance to learn tarot in a small group.

The workshop is for you if
  • You own a deck of tarot card but can’t seem to get all the meanings
  • You scramble when you do readings, reaching out for your tarot dictionary all the time
  • You are curious about what goes through a tarot reader’s mind during a reading
  • You want a deeper understanding of the cards instead of just superficial knowledge of the keywords associated
What you will learn in the workshop
  • How to understand the meanings behind Rider-Waite tarot’s Major Arcana (22 cards) and Minor Arcana (56 cards) better
  • How to make the meanings of the cards your own
  • How to find the main card of your deck
  • How to master three useful tarot spreads (and how to create your own)
  • How to be more confident at tarot reading
  • How to think like a tarot reader (and tips for reading for others)
What we do at the workshop

The workshop’s first two hours will be lecture-based. I will teach the tarot spreads, card meanings and more.

The next hour will be hands-on practice for all students. You’ll be reading for others and let others read for you. If you have questions, you can ask me there and then about how to interpret the cards based on the questions as.

I teach using the Rider-Waite-Smith deck since it’s the most popular deck around. But if you already have a deck which is not a RWS deck, bring along the deck and we can explore how the meanings for it might be different.

You’ll also get to see a demonstration of a reading, and practice doing a reading for others under my guidance.
