Today I’m going to share a spread that I use very often for myself. It’s called the “Nothing More Than Feelings” tarot spread.
It’s a tarot spread about feelings between two people. It could be for potential/current/past romantic partners, business partners, colleagues or arch-nemesis.
As long as there are two people and as long as you have contact with each other you can use this tarot spread. (I don’t recommend using it to read your relationship with Tom Hiddleston, for example.)
I use this spread a lot, a bit too much. The reason being I’m chicken when it comes to directly communicating with others.
Still, it’s a fun spread.
Partner relationship tarot spread
There are two parts to it, on the left we have Party A (usually yourself) and on the right we have Party B (the other person).
- The first level is how you feel about your partner and how your partner feels about you.
- The second level is how do you feel about yourself in this relationship, and how your partner feels about themself in this relationship.
- Then there is outcome of this relationship.
And at last, we have the card that I like the most: “How to make the relationship better”.
You can change the meaning of the last card to: “How to cut ties from this person” if you want to get away from them.
Pick the last card after you have flipped open and explained the other cards.
Example of the spread in action
Using myself and Party B as an example, here’s how I read for myself using the Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot Deck.
How I feel about Party B: The Moon
The Moon is about confusion. I do tend to feel that I don’t get this person at all. “Are you who I think you are? Or maybe you’re not.” He’s definitely a riddle or a mystery.
How Party B feels about me: Knight of Pentacles
Knight of Pentacles relates to money. It symbolises someone who has plans and is forward thinking when it comes to money.
Party B likely thinks that I have long-term strategic plans about my life when it comes to money.
How I feel about myself in this relationship: Nine of Swords
Nine of Swords which is emotional pain. So much pain that I wake up in the middle of the night crying.
I must admit this is a bit of an exaggeration. I mean, don’t do that every night.
How Party B feels about themself in this relationship: Page of Cups
Page of Cups is someone who’s in the baby/beginning steps of a relationship. He’s still not that mature emotionally but is willing to explore.
The outcome of this relationship: Ten of Pentacles
This is a card about a happy family that is happy and has material wealth. It’s usually good when it’s a relationship reading.
And if I pair this with the cards related to Party B, this is a positive sign.
How to make the relationship better: Two of Cups
This is a really great card when it comes to relationships too. It’s about people who start as friends and then they became more.
In the card, one of them is reaching out first. So in this situation, I interpret it as I being the one who needs to make the move.
Overall interpretation
Tarot reading is also about looking at the big picture. Based on the cards, I’d say that Party A (me) worries too much about nothing since this relationship does have legs.
And if I want to stop worrying, I’d need to make the move.
