I bought The Tarot Box by Juliet Sharman-Burke second hand from Carousell. It was cheap at S$8.

At that point, I only had my Halloween Tarot deck which I adore. But I felt that I needed a bit of variety.

When I first held the box, I was surprised that the cards were tiny. It’s OK, I could bring it around then.

But the more I looked at the cards, the more I realised how much I dislike them. Look at the card below.

King of Wands and Judgement

King of Wands and Judgement

Instead of a distinguished gentleman, we have a lecherous old man as King of Wands.

The cards can fit into my hand but I find them a tad filmsy. I really didn’t want to use it as part of my reading decks.

In the end, I printed sticker labels and pasted them on the back of the cards.

Now I use them as name cards when I meet new people. I ask them to pick a card, do a quick explanation and tell them to keep the card. I think the success rate of the tarot card being kept is higher than a name card.

Despite its flaws, The Tarot Box does have a very good reference book. It’s rather thick and in a very carry-friendly size.

Verdict: I do not recommend The Tarot Box by Juliet Sharman-Burke. The design of the cards is unappealing.

If you want to buy tarot decks, I recommend these tarot decks for beginners.
